A few weeks ago I caught an episode of the Lorraine Pascale "how to be a better cook" series. There was a lady on the show who had never cooked a home cooked meal from scratch for her family, ever. I was quite shocked by that but it made me wonder how many other families are in the same position. As the show went on it became apparent that she was more than capable of cooking an amazing meal for her family, but just never had the confidence to do it before. I was quite touched by how enthusiastic she was about learning her new skills, and how proud her children were of her. If only Lorraine Pascale could be around to help a lot more families like this, and give more families the chance to learn new skills in the kitchen, and realise that home cooked meals don't have to be complicated.
One of the dishes that she cooked was Baked Rosemary Courgette Fritters, and as soon as I received a copy of the book I knew this was the dish that I was going to try first.
Not quite as neat as in the book, but they tasted great.
The book is full of lots of great recipes and photos, including this White Sangria.
Grilled Peach, Burrata and basil salad
Pumpkin, Brown sugar and Pecan Cake
