Kids Grow Wild!

Jack was really excited when he received his Kids Grow Wild gardening kit from Moneysupermarket and couldn't wait to get it out and find out what was inside.

It didn't take him long to get stuck in. With his gardening gloves on he filled his pots up with compost from his big 'tub of mud'. He was concentrating so hard & with such a serious face that only broke into a smile (second picture) when he heard the ice cream van go past.

Once the pots were filled he then got onto the task of sewing seeds. Fiddly little things that seeds are we won't be surprised if Daddy ends up with a few sunflowers growing in the middle of his lawn.

If the pots aren't labelled then how will we know what's growing, so thankfully there were some sheets of plant pot labels to cut out and write. I wrote the words down and Jack copied them and cut the labels out all by himself - I was very impressed at his cutting skills!

Now the pots were labelled up it was time to give them a water, making sure not to give them too much.

Jack now has an area of the garden that's just right for digging until it gets turfed over in the next few weeks. In the meantime he's making the most of his new mud patch and goes out to make pies most days whilst waiting for the seeds to start growing.
