We went to Pontins for a football tour, Sam and 14 of his 11 and 12 year old team-mates, along with some of their parents, some of whom I had only met briefly and some that I hadn't met at all. First of all they had a team presentation where Sam picked up the Parent's Player of the Year award.
The boys then went on to do us all proud, over the 2 days of the tournament, winning all of their 8 games and then going on to win in the final after a very tense penalty shoot out. The boys were all so well behaved and proved themselves to be such great sportsmen when they not only picked up a trophy almost as big as some of the players, but also walked away with the Fair Play award.
We all had such a great time, with lots of laughs amongst the children and parents.
Hanna and Jack also had a great time, getting together with friends and making new ones. Jack is in his element playing with the boys from the football team, it's like he has 15 big brothers not just 1.
We enjoyed time on the beach, despite the cold northern winds
and lots of football playing
but now the time has come for my girls weekend away so I'm packing up and shipping out for 4 nights in Majorca. As usual I've left a few essentials for the family - a pan of bolognaise, a fully stocked fridge, cake and homemade cookies in the cookie jar.
