The Day the Sun Shone

Thankfully *touches wood* it hasn't rained [so far] here today. I say thankfully because of it being St Swithin's day and, as the saying goes, if it rains today it will rain for 40 days and 40 nights

St Swithun's day if thou dost rain

For forty days it will remain

For forty days 'twill rain nae mare

So, for us at least, 'twill rain nae mare, although I'm not sure whether I believe that, especially as it's forecast rain for the next week at least.


We decided to make the most of the brief dry spell and on the way back from lunch out we called at Cannock Chase so the kids could have a run about and get some fresh air. Sam decided to stay in the car and listen to his music as he's way too cool for a playground these days, and obviously as Jack can't currently walk he took to Daddy's shoulders.
