Every Cloud and all that....

This week has had its ups and downs, mostly down to be honest. At the beginning of the week I developed a cyst in my mouth where a polyp had been removed just over a week earlier, which is now bigger than the polyp was. Over the next two days I developed not one but two cold sores around my mouth which, combined with the cyst, have left me looking like I've undergone a bad session of botox injections! An elderly family member also received some bad news about her health, so by Wednesday I was feeling pretty down in the dumps.


That all changed on Thursday afternoon though, when I spotted the following subject line in my inbox :

Britmums/Lean on Turkey competition - you are a winner! 

All that turkey cooking and eating paid off and I won the BritMums competition with my BBQ Pulled Turkey recipe. The email lifted my spirits somewhat as not only have I won £250 I'm also invited to go along to a cooking Masterclass with Marco Pierre White, along with 5 other winning bloggers. The £250 means that I now don't need to wait until my birthday next month to get my new camera and no longer need to take my broken compact digital to BritMums Live next week as I'm picking my new one up tomorrow! I just have to work out how to use it now.


It's going to be a busy few days with being in London for BritMums Live next Friday and Saturday and then in London again for the Masterclass the following Tuesday but I am so looking forward to both. I've never been to a blogging conference before but I have met a few fellow bloggers and am looking forward to doing a bit of socialising with them and I'm sure myself and my roomie for the night, Jenny (aka Mummy Mishaps) will have a good laugh in that double bed of ours! I'm not sure what to expect at the cooking Masterclass though, as seeing Marco Pierre White on tv puts the fear of God in me. I just hope he doesn't tell me off for my untidy workspace!


Thank you BritMums and Marco Pierre White for brightening up my week, and also thank you to my Husband for taking time off work so I can attend these events.....and for bringing home a new mug for me tonight.
