Random Bakes of Kindness

You may or may not of heard of Vanessa Kimbell, she recently published an excellent cookery book Prepped! for which I was lucky enough to test one of her recipes and attend the book launch.

She has come up with the ingenious idea of 'Random Bakes of Kindness' where she is asking us to take part and when we next bake something for ourselves we should double it up and give the extra batch to someone in our lives who deserves a spontaneous thank you, a kind word and some recognition for just being a marvellous person. You can read more about it here.

At the weekend we had visitors over so I decided to bake some Vanilla Blondies. The recipe produces quite a few Blondies and as they are so nice I didn't want to have some lying around afterwards (or I would eat them all!) so I thought what could be better than to package some of them up as my Random Bake of Kindness. Then I just had to decide who to give them to.

A couple of months ago I got invited to Ascot Ladies day for a friends birthday, my initial dilemma was what to wear as I am not really a dress person. My friend told me not to worry as she had a perfect dress for me, and it was perfect, it fitted me better than if I had chosen it off the rail myself so that's the dress that I wore. Around the same time I also received my invite for the launch of Prepped! and as there was a pink theme to the day my friend was happy for me to wear the dress to that too.  Last week I went to Newbury Races Ladies day for another birthday and guess what.......I wore the dress again!

So now I have decided to finally give the dress back, I think it has out-stayed its welcome at my house and it's time for it to return home. I wrapped the blondies up in an large Organza bag with a plastic bag inside to keep them fresh, all ready to give to my friend......I just have to iron the dress now.
