Toyologist Toy Review - DON'T LAUGH

Don't Laugh - 'the laugh-out-loud joke game, with hilarious MAGIC MICROPHONE' by Drummond Park is a family board game for 2-4 players. The object of the game is to get to the end of the board by making their opponents smile or laugh at their jokes.

The players read out a joke on a card picked from the stack, as soon as they've finished reading it out they start the timer. Whilst the timer is still running the player telling the joke can use sound effects or the voice changer to try and make the other players laugh. The sound effect they can use will depend on the icon on the playing space that they have landed on, including Farting and laughter.

The kids first tried the game out with Daddy, not long after he'd arrived home from work - perhaps the wrong time as his face never cracked a smile the whole game so the kids threw in the towel and gave up.

They've played it a few times, with adults and without but I've found that it quite often causes arguments between my competitive 8 and 10 years olds, "you smiled" "no I didn't" "don't cheat" "I'm not" "Muuuuuuuum!!"

When they play with friends they do however have a great time, with lots a laughter and fun and once one of the kids laughs it's hard for the others not to join in, although Sam is particularly good at keeping a straight face most of the time.

The jokes are your good old 'cracker' jokes, designed to make kids laugh every time (if they understand them!)
What tools do you need in a maths class?- Multi-Pliers!
How did the farmer fix his jeans?-With a cabbage patch!
How does an eskimo keep the roof on his house?-E-glues it!

Don't worry I haven't given all the jokes away - there are 200 joke cards, with 4 jokes on each.

Don't Laugh is available online Toys R Us and retails at £19.99 and would be great for the kids this Christmas.

Age suitability: 8yrs - adult
