REVIEW - Bumblejums Book & CD

I was lucky enough to be sent a book & CD by the lovely people at Bumblejums to review with my 23 month old boy, Jack.

"Have you ever dreamt of a world where the residents live in harmony with nature? Well, the Bumblejums of Bally Bo do so every day, living life the way nature intended. They grow their vegetables, use their special powers to look after nature and everyone in Bally Bo."

The lovely 16 page paperback book is very bright and colourful with a good quality cover & pages. I read it to myself before reading it to Jack to see what it was all about. I like the fact that the story is written in rhyme, with verses that flow well. It tells a story about the characters (Jo, Jem, Jon & Jay) of Bally Bo and the special powers that they have in this magical land.

Jack isn't often interested in listening to a whole book, he only usually manages a few pages before his attention drifts elsewhere but on the occasions that I have read Meet The Bumblejums to him he has listened intently, pointing at pictures & repeating words throughout the whole book. He now brings the book to me and asks  "Bub-a-jubs...book...read it".

I put the The Bumblejums CD in the car to listen to on our travels and on the school runs. Myself and the kids (10years, 8 years & 23month old Jack) have listened to over the last couple of days  and have really enjoyed it - my 10 year old smiles every time it comes on - he desperately tries not to but just can't help himself - I defy you not to smile when you listen to someone singing 'Jem, Jon and Jay and Jo' - try getting your tongue around that!!. There is a catchy theme tune and stories about the characters and a song about each of them. Jack got really excited, waving his arms around & singing along so I think they've been a real hit with him!

Just recently Jack doesn't like being videoed and as you can see once he noticed the camera was on I was told to stop!

The book and CD are priced at £5.99 & £6.99 respectively and are available from The Bumblejums website.  If you use the code MUM11 you will get 20% off.

The very catchy songs are also available to download on iTunes.

Although I received this book & CD fee of charge I have provided my honest opinion.
